| Welcome to Pregnets, EverNeo! Thank you for sharing your questions with our community.
We know it might be difficult to let your doctor know about your smoking in fear of judgment, but this might stop you from getting the support you need. Your doctor would be able to give you lots of helpful suggestions, referrals to local programs, supports, and encourage you in your process to quit. If you don’t feel comfortable with your doctor’s recommendations, try to make that clear during your appointment and ask for other suggestions to help you quit.
If you still feel that you are not getting the help you need from your doctor, try talking to a different health care provider such as a: nurse, pharmacist, social worker, or counsellor. All of these people can give you the support you need and provide adequate information about smoking as well. You can also read about the experiences of women like you, and learn about their journeys in trying to quit smoking during pregnancy, on our discussion board or our blog. |
