When I began typing this out I had a very long submission but the system timed out. Ha-so here is the short version. I am 29 weeks pregant and have not been able to kick cigarettes. I am ashamed, I feel guilty and the cigarettes are beating me down further and further. I have so many reasons why I have made excesuces for myself to not be successful in the non smoking journey. I have quit for 7 days before and tomorrow i will be trying to do it again. I hope my guilt will hopefully no longer haunt me and I can move foward in my life with out giving the tobacco industries the upperhand. I hope tomorrow I can be successful and report success to you readers in the coming days. Thanks for allowing me to share my words.

Slipping is my number one concern!
I have been quit for a few months before but I was never able to stick to it. I really want to make sure I stick with it this time but it's soooo hard! I am always able to convince myself that one puff isn't that big of a deal and then before you know it I am a full blown smoker again!
Now that I am writing this out I guess the obvious key would be just avoiding that one puff... If only I could think logically when I am having a bad craving and believe this then.
Can anyone relate?

I would like to know everyone's oppinion....

I am not quit yet but I know one of the toughest times for me will be right in the morning. I love having my morning herbal tea with a cigarette. Does any one have any suggestions on how I can deal with mornings? Mornings are tough enough as it is! :(

Pregnets frequently receives questions and concerns about this topic. There is no clear answer to this question because every woman's body is different.
However, it is important to keep in mind that gaining weight during pregnancy is healthy and necessary. The health benefits of quitting smoking far outweigh the risk associated with weight gain from quitting.
Before, during and after pregnancy, a woman can keep a healthy body weight by eating healthy food, exercising and reducing or quitting smoking. Doctors, nurses, midwives and doulas can help women plan how to eat well and keep active. You can learn more from the Pregnets website pages on exercise
If you feel comfortable sharing, we would love to learn about your experiences with this topic. Feel free to add to this discussion or start your own! Let us know if you have any questions :)

Hi there, just joining the group. I like to quit smoking completely. My quit date is February 23,2014. Don't have any quit plans but reading on it. I was my baby to be as healthy as possible so I would like to quit ASAP. I feel like a terrible mother to be cuz I've been smoking throughout my pregnancy and I desperately want to stop

Ive been reading a lot of things on some Mommy blogs and apparently there are some studies out there that says drinking just little bit of wine is actually ok in pregnancy. I dont know what to think so I thought I shud come here and ask a professional. i want to be really healthy for my baby but I dont wanna give up everything if I dont have to you know?

Two months ago, I had a beautiful baby girl and I'm very greatful dont get me wrong. but I've been feeling really down lately. My mom told me that its normal to have baby blues after. But I've just been feeling tired and losing my sleep and feeling really depressed a lot more. I'm so tempted to start smoking again.

The only time I getto smoke is in my car bc it's my alone time. I'm careful not to smoke when my kiddies are with me. Someone told me smoking in my car is bad for my kids evenif their not in the car...is that true?

I couldn't quit smoking completely when I was pregnant... it made my baby's birth harder. I don't even know if I should still try to quit or even if there is a point now that my baby is born?? :(

So here's the thing. I quit smoking for about 4 weeks now, I wanna make this a smooth pregnancy for my body so I started exercising (and I heard it's a good distraction for cravings). But it ends up being the opposite!! Im finding myself getting really stressed out every time I go for a run. So @pregnets should I stop exercising? I really don't want to gain too much weight though. :O

So I am 2 mo pregnant and smoking 4-5 cigarettes a day (it sucks i know but it's just so hard to quit cold turkey like she wants me to!!) I told my doctor that i completely quit but now I'm scared to tell the truth cuz i'm worried she'll judge me...but do I tell her? what should I do?

Doesn't feel easier yet
I am on the patch, maybe thats why....
I'm 32 weeks pregnant, I feel terrible for smoking but its so hard to quit. I cry at the drop of a dime, I have a lot of cravings still, does this get easier? Especia;;y as I am on the patch? Should I go off the patch? I think I will smoke if I dont have the patch on.....sooooo confused, I want to be free from this. I have 2 other kids and want to be healthy for them as well....
I tried cutting down, and would always find myself wanting to smoke more.
I am enjoying the freedom a bit though, not stressing about when I can sneak in the next cigarette, I am happy I am no longer smoking, but its just hard....night time is the hardest I find, I am irritable, emotional, and having cravings. I think about giving up, but then think about having to start over again and I feel like that would be a waste of effort.
Need some encouragement
