How to get started at: The Nicotine Dependence Clinic (NDC)

​​​​Step 1 Call and register with Access CAMH (416-535-8501, press 2)


New Patients: Register with CAMH by calling Access CAMH (416-535-8501, press 2).

CAMH Patients: Call Access CAMH (416-535-8501, press 2) will book you in for an appointment with an NDC clinical staff member for an Initial Comprehensive Assessment.

You will receive a phone call to attend the "Getting Started​" workshop.

Step 2 Attend Getting Started workshop (90 minutes, every Tuesday at 1pm)



You will receive a link in your appointment confirmation email to an educational module that will help provide you with some information about the NDC and about tobacco and tobacco cessation strategies and treatment.
Step 3 Initial Comprehensive Assessment



​After completing the "Getting Started" module, you will have an appointment set to see one of our therapists who will talk with you to figure out why you use tobacco, your strengths, and your needs while you're trying to quit.
Step 4 Health and Medical Appointment



A nurse or doctor will do a health assessment and talk about tobacco cessation medication. If appropriate, patients may ​​have the option of receiving up to 26 weeks of free NRT through the STOP ​Program.

Optional Support Groups




Ongoing weekly support groups are available to all patients of t​h​e NDC​.


Refer Your Patient to the NDC

Patients can self-refer for services at the NDC. For New Patients, please call to register with Access CAMH (416-535-8501, press 2). 

For CAMH Patients, call Access CAMH (416-535-8501, press 2) to be connected to the NDC. Collaborating agencies can refer according to the special pathways designated for your agency.
